5 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

5 Things

Feel like you know me better now? YAAY!

And the Mel Gibson-thing? True story… only it was more of damn-near-knocked-him-down!

I was rushing back to work after lunch, hands full with handbag, coffee mug, and book. I bumped the counter-gate which led into the inner-office with my hips and sort of… spun through the gate.

Guess who was on the other side? OOPS!

I apologized and headed for the lounge but was caught off-guard by every woman in the office running towards me.

Office excitement – YES!

When I asked what was going on, it was my dear, dear friend and coworker, Rosalind, who responded, “Fool! You and those hips of yours just almost knocked down Mel Gibson!” (Rosalind had such a way with words.)

I glanced back over my shoulder and it was indeed Mel Gibson… still standing near the counter-gate. I’m not one to be easily embarrassed, but when he threw me a tiny three-fingered wave, it was all over. I ran to the lounge and stayed there until he left the office.

Of course, it was wise, old, office sage, Rosalind, who sought me out.

“What do you have to say for yourself, troublemaker?”

“He’s short.” (I couldn’t help myself!)

There! that’s the whole story that’s fit to print!

Lol so many actors are short πŸ˜‚. I we nt to the Emmys a few years ago as a seat filler and that was my first reaction.. “why are they all so short?” πŸ˜‚

I remember hearing a story that due to their height differences (her really tall, him only 5’4″) Tom Cruise had to walk on stacked mats beside Nichole Kidman in “Days of Thunder.” Not sure what they did for their other movies together. You’d think the directors would’ve just stopped trying to film them walking side-by-side LOL

      IKR? πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I met Harry Anderson and Charlie Robinson from the old “Night Court” series – now they are two truly tall men! πŸ˜‰

Wow, that surprises me. I mean I know “Bull” looked giant even on screen, but Judge Harry never looked that tall. Maybe because he spent most of his time sitting down? BTW, I loved that show!

So did I! Selma Diamond left us too soon. Marsha Warfield was good, but Selma’s baliff was the ultimate of snark and grumpiness! πŸ˜‰

Oh my memory is horrible, I honestly only remember Marsha Warfield’s character. I’m going to have to find a way to get the box sets for that series lol

I hear Tom Cruise is short as well. I would love to see how they construct the sets for these dudes.

Positively loved this! the Mel Gibson story is a gem.
And I’m not too wild about bridges myself. I also get a creeped out feeling when I have to drive UNDER them!

Thanks, Mae! The Mel-thing happened over twenty years ago – 1996 – and it still comes back to haunt me!

Bridges! UGH! I have to map out entire trips if I’m expected to drive – unexpected bridges are not a good thing! I can drive under them if I can still see light. Tunnels – no. Did a Daffy Duck-freakout when my older bro took me on the Chesapeake Bay-Bridge Tunnel – he’s still apologizing! πŸ˜€

My all-time favorite cousin lives in New York…yep, Manhattan – bridge-world! No…just no. I’d sell it back to the Indians if it were left up to me! I’ve been there twice and the second time, she had the nerve to take me to the Catskills – geezo-peezo! Thought for sure I’d have a drinking problem before the trip ended! πŸ˜€

She wants me to visit again to celebrate her 60th birthday… and that’s going to be a big fat no – I’d like to live to see my own 60th birthday…and the ones leading to it and after it! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I’ve had to go through a few underground mountain tunnels and an underground ocean tunnel *shudder* several times and am not sure how I got through those treks. That stuff is just freaky. I completely relate to your fears!
